Frequently Asked Questions 1. Is Supercharge Your Sermons only for "new" or "experienced" preachers? A Supercharge Your Sermons
membership is perfect for persons of all experience and skill levels.
Each week's lesson is broken down into manageable steps for easy
application. There are also "advanced" insights that seasoned veterans
will find advantageous in putting into practice. I have had experienced
preachers as well as new preachers say that the 1.0 version of the course greatly helped their preaching ministry.
2. Is Supercharge Your Sermons 2.0 only for African Americans?
Absolutely
Not! Preachers of all ethnic traditions can learn from and incorporate
aspects of the African American preaching tradition. When I took
African American Preaching at seminary, over half the class was
non-Black, and they learned much to help them. I am here to help
all gain insight from and learn from the tradition.
3. Are there any "hidden costs" in addition to my membership fees? You will need a Bible which you can get off the web for free. You will need a concordance. You do not need anything else. I will recommend free and paid resources in the course, but none are required.
4. Does my membership include personal coaching?
Originally there was no coaching or interaction at all. However in Supercharge Your Sermons 2.0, you will be able to ask questions of both the instructor (myself) and other students in the forums as well as in the lesson itself.
Of course I cannot give personal one on one coaching to all members of the program, but we will have opprotunity to help one another as time allows.
5. Do I have to commit to the entire 6 months?
Of
course not. While I don't think you'll want to do so, you may cancel
anytime you want. You may either email me through the Contact Us link
to the above left of this page or Clickbank.com directly for a prompt
and courteous cancellation. Like I said, I don't think you'll want todo so after diving in to the training! 6. On what day of the week will I receive my update in the website?
There
isn't a set "day" of the week when lessons will arrive. The website will be updated on the day of the week you signed up for the program.
7. Who are You and what are your qualifications?
I
am Sherman Haywood Cox II. I am the son of a preacher. I
grew up in the church. I have preached for the last 20 years.
I have a Master of Divinity Degree from Vanderbilt DivinitySchool with an emphasis in Homiletics. While at Vanderbilt I
earned a certificate in Black Church studies and won the Florence
Conwell Prize for outstanding work in the area of preaching. Yes
I have the academic credentials. But more
importantly, I am a teacher of preachers. I am the primary
contributor to SoulPreaching.Com which is the primary African American
preaching website. You can go there and see my preaching teaching methods. Better yet, type "preaching" into google and see that
this resource is regularly in the top 10 resources in preaching.
Many have been helped by my work there. So I
am a preacher, the son of a preacher, studied preaching, one an award
in preaching, and write regularly about preaching on the web. Now
I am making that background available in a preaching program.
